TAXACOM POSTING POLICY

In order to minimize the nuisance of junk mail to the list, posting to
Taxacom is restricted to subscribers only.

This helps to reduce spamming but adds a little overhead to managing the
list. It is not uncommon for existing subscribers to find that a posting
to the Taxacom has been rejected by the listserver as being from a
non-subscriber. This situation usually occurs for one of two reasons: 1)
your institution has changed your actual e-mail address, usually by a
small change to the domain name, or 2) a person subscribed under another
account and is receiving forwarded mail to a new address - one not on the
Taxacom list.

In the latter case, the solution is to unsubscribe yourself from the
original account and resubscribe from your new account. If your domain
name has changed without your action, send an e-mail to:

taxacom-request@cmsa.berkeley.edu

and we will delete you from the list at your old address. Once you
resubscribe, you will be able to post messages again.

A related situation may arise, when a person reads Taxacom on the WWW
interface, and does not wish to subscribe but wants to post messages. In
these cases we recommend that you subscribe to the list with the 'SET
NOMAIL' option in your subscription e-mail to the list. Then you will be
recognized as a subscriber for posting purposes but receive no mail.

TOO MUCH MAIL? YET ANOTHER WAY TO SAVOR TAXACOM!

The TAXACOM List Archive is also indexed by date, author and thread, and
is conveniently browsable as a World Wide Web Hypermail archive. If you
would prefer to read TAXACOM at your leisure without receiving mailings,
the WWW archive is highly recommended.

We hope you will enjoy TAXACOM.
