Herbs, twining. Leaves pinnately 3-foliolate; leaflets entire; stipules narrow. Racemes axillary, simple or sometimes 1- or 2-branched; bracts membranous, enlarging after anthesis, leaflike, boat-shaped. Flowers solitary or fascicled at each node of rachis. Calyx membranous, 5-lobed; upper 2 lobes connate. Corolla clawed; standard nearly orbicular, with paired calluses above auricle flaps; wings oblong, auriculate; keel incurved, shortly auriculate. Stamens diadelphous (9 + 1); anthers uniform. Ovary nearly sessile, with an annular disc around base, 1-ovuled; style slightly thickened above. Pod broadly elliptic, compressed, reticulate veined, indehiscent. Seed 1, reniform or orbicular.
Three species: India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand; one species in China.

Young stem winged, long appressed hairy. Petiole 7–10 cm; leaflet blade oblong, (5–)8–13 × (2–)4–5(–6.5) cm, abaxially densely grayish yellow pubescent, adaxially glabrous, base rounded or slightly cordate, sometimes emarginate, apex obtuse. Inflorescences 10–15 cm, retrorsely strigose, 14-flowered per bract; bracts boat-shaped, enlarging after anthesis, 2.5–3.8 cm, veined, abaxially glabrous, adaxially strigose. Flowers 1.2–1.4 cm. Pedicel short, 2–3 mm, retrorsely strigose. Calyx strigose, 5-lobed; lower 3 lobes ovate, upper 2 lobes connate, triangular. Corolla white, ca. 1 cm; standard nearly orbicular; wings oblong; keel nearly erect, apex obtuse. Ovary shortly funiculate, with an annular disc around base. Pod ovoid, ca. 8 × 5 mm, retrorsely strigose, apex acute. Seed brown, reniform, ca. 5 × 5 mm. Fl. and fr. Sep–Nov.
Sunny slopes, mixed forests, thickets; 200–900 m. SW Guangxi, S Yunnan [Laos, Myanmar, Thailand].
