* Beijing's Environmental Protection Bureau was to launch a weekly air
quality report today, and will turn it into a daily service starting from
June.

* About 8 million Chinese people who now have no access to electric power
will have it by the end of this century, and have it in a clean way, an
official of the State Planning Commission (SPC) said on Thursday in
Beijing. "The full use of China's rich wind resources is of great
significance for reducing environmental pollution," said SPC Vice-Minister
YE Qing.
