Formerly a co-director of the Flora of China project.
He dealt with all Chinese-language related aspects of the project,
including the preparation of Chinese, Pinyin, and scientific indices
for the Flora, and coordinates the publication of the Flora of China Illustrations.
Zhu was the co-author of the Araceae (excluding
Arisaema and Amorphophallus) and of Thalictrum
(Ranunculaceae) for the Flora. He revised Dracontium,
as part of a National Science Foundation-sponsored project under the direction
of Thomas B. Croat. Zhu created the International Aroid Society Web Site.
